What can I do to get information about a Western Flyer road bike?

best kids bikes lightweight on Best 50cc Dirt Bikes, Top 50cc dirt bikes for kids on Alibaba.com
best kids bikes lightweight image

dannycrous

Answer
There are no online resources to give you this info but I can give you a hint.

Western Flyer midweight bikes (with wider tires, fenders, and maybe a tank) were made by Murray in the US while the kids bikes and lightweight models were made in West Germany, Poland, and perhaps Hungary by the same company that made Derby, Executive, and President bicycles. There were also some made by AMF in the US.

So, look on the headbadge and see where it was made then post it- preferably with a picture of the right side (the chain side)- and I'll edit my answer.

What bmx bikes are lightweight and good quality?

Have you ever defeated a stereotype before?

Major Tom

I have many times. I'm from Texas. When I lived elsewhere and served in the military, most people were shocked. I don't wear a cowboy hat or have a twangy accent. I speak proper English, and all my sentences are coherent because I'm educated. I hate country music, and I'm a staunch Democrat. Everyone thought I was from California because I'm liberal, and I love mountain-biking. Plus, I love heavy metal, and I'm environmentally conscious. Has anyone ever defeated a stereotype before? If so, how did you do it?

Answer
I am Ukrainian Very close to Russian you could say, there stereotype is that girls and guys, where leather coats, drop out, women become a house wife by 19 if not earlier. Also we all drive Honda's or BMW's, and hang out at Starbucks. well I don't do any of these things, I detest Honda's and BMW's, and don't ever drink coffee, don't even want to think about marriage until 24 even that is early here in America. I plan on getting a degree when the majority of Ukrainian and Russian Youth does not. Men drop out of high school and start construction and women do the same but do not work. I am different because I choose to be not because I am Americanized. I was born in Ukraine, and still am fluent, but i also am educated in English.

How do you make rock climbing a competition?

Lauren M

I was recently elected onto the executive board for my Jewish Youth Group. Part of being on board includes coming up with fun events to do as a group. So, I chose to promote a Rock Climbing night (at an indoor climbing facility, not outdoors). However, to get this idea to fly, I need to create a competition out of it. Does anyone have any ideas?

Answer

I have been holidaying & taking a break in the big smoke. I spent a few days on Rottnest Island & while there hired a push bike, as that is the main mode of transport on the island.

Anyway my bum is now unbelievably stiff & sore. When I was a kid, I live on my bike. I worked it out that it has over 20 years since I regularly treadled my old grid. What about you?

Answer
I'll be riding mine down to the pub in about five minutes for the Friday night raffles. One thing about owning your own bike is you get to pick a comfortable saddle. Another place that is worth renting a bike is the Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo. It is a great way to get around the zoo provided you have a tough bum.

How do I install training wheels around a rear derailleur on a 20" bike?

StanleyLiv

Just purchased Wald training wheels for kids bike (16" to 26"). The right side has a gear derailleur on it, which extends further than the axle. I can't put the training wheel bar on the axle since I don't have clearance.

Can this axle be extended out farther somehow?

Answer
There are better ways to learn how to ride a bike. Remove the pedals and lower the saddle so they can flat foot on the ground and push them self around and learn to steer. Then try coasting down a small slop with the feet down and then lifting the feet. Next replace the pedals and gradually raise the saddle.

We have bought our four year old son a toddler bike with training wheels but he refuses to pedal and only makes a half-heared attempt at it.

Answer
The wheels on most bikes turn when the wheels move. Just put his feet on the pedals and then push him around. He probably doesn't like having to work it himself. But if he sees how fun it can be, he'll probably get motivated and want you to stop pushing him so he can do it himself. Try it on the driveway where it's easier to pedal.

What are some good ways to potty train your toddler?

Demon eyes

Okay I don't want to sound like a bad parent or anything in that sort. But I've tried sitting my toddler on potty and it hasn't worked. I've tried a potty chart with stickers, I've tried rewards but my toddler would rather run around and play with the potty. Also My toddler is scared of loud noises.

Answer
Give the kid a cold shower everytime they fail. They will decide really quick that using the potty is better than cold showers. It does not hurt them or harm them in any way, it's just an unpleasant experience.
I tried every type of reward system and suggestion i could find to potty train my daughter (sticker charts, candy, bribery with a bike, none of it worked). A friend told me that her parents used the cold shower method on her little sister to finally get her to figure it out. When she still was pooping and peeing in her pants at age four I gave up and she got cold showers and was potty trained in less than a week.

I want a seat for my bike for my son to ride on but I'm looking for the kind that goes in front of me. I can't find one anywhere. What is a good brand and does any one know what the weight limit is?

Thanks!

Answer
Wee rider is the only brand name that I'm aware of. They are pretty expensive though. Weight limit is 18 kg (40 lb).

http://weeride.com.au/.
http://weeride.com/

There are a few no name nock offs that are cheaper you can usually find these on Ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-Front-Mounting-Baby-Child-Bicycle-Seat-Carrier-CSFR_W0QQitemZ350050258551QQihZ022QQcategoryZ7295QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Fitting one of these will make it hard to climb. I also expect you might have to adjust your pedaling "knee" style.

They would probably be fine for short trips and you will enjoy chatting with the lad more.

My tip would be to talk louder and get a trailer. There is a heap more room for the accompanying toddler baggage and they don't effect your bikes handling anywhere near as much.

I'm not keen on the rear mount mainly because the child's view is dominated by the parents bum.

Both the "on bike" options are probably safer if you need to ride in heavy traffic.

What would be the most affordable bike to get that is safe to put a 2 year old on the back?

Paula G

Hey There - we are looking to get a couple of bikes to ride around white rock lake with our 22 month old son. We are novices - so we just want something decent, but doesn't need to be the tour de france. Also - what is the best seat for the baby to get? Thanks!

Answer
You do not put a child of 22 months on a bike!!! Are you out of your mind?

OTOH your child can ride WITH you on almost any bike with age appropriate compatible equipment

The child goes on/in the equipment, the equipment attaches to the bike/bikes you choose.

Got it?

Generally speaking if/when your child is old enough to hold his/her head up WITH an infant helmet the progression is usually this:

infant to toddler - best solution is a child trailer. Your kid is sheltered, somewhat protected, sheltered from the sun, and if YOU take a tumble the trailer stays upright!! This will let you go from novice to experienced while your child is safe.

A trailer can go on almost any bike. Some will convert from trailer to jog/stroller.

Check with your local bike shop.

DO NOT BUY AT A BOX STORE. Your LBS will show you how to attach it safely and use it and what bikes will be compatible.

Toddler to lets say maybe 4-5 depending on kid. Some manner of rear mounted child seat. Who knows what will be available by the time the fruit of your loins reaches that age. Same principle, go to your LBS and have them show you how to safely attach it to your bike.

BTW in all this and at all stages GET A HELMET FOR YOUR CHILD and you too. Makes no sense for the child to survive and you to be relearning the alphabet. ;-)

5-9 or so depending on child: tag-along trailer. Like a tandem in principle attaches to your bike. Your child can pedal ... or not. But gets the feeling of participating and helps Mom/Dad move along. You know where said child is (behind you). Said child is not likely to hit me or veer all around the trail unless you do that too ;-)

9 and up plus or minus depending on your child, their interest etc now you may be talking ride with their very own bike or some equip a tandem with crankset the right length for said kid (which can be adjusted as your kid grows)

Have fun out there!!!!!!

Aaron C

just wondering what i big kid (like me) can do in the country to exercise.

Answer
Go for small walks each day, like 10 minutes or so...get in the habit of doing it everyday. But just start out with small things at first, so you don't get discouraged, and on top of that it will help you to stay commited. When you start to get bored of routine, search an atlas, or map to find parks, game preserves, or any walking trails to make things more interesting ( I would know, I live in Maine lol)...Also make sure it's something you enjoy, it doesn't feel like exercise when your having fun. If you really feel up to it, look up some nearby mountains and get a friend (animal, or person) to go for a hike with you, I cannot stress how rewarding it is once you're at the top.

Other activities:
Summer: swimming, hiking, walking, running, playing outside with kids, biking, golf or any sport.

winter: skiing, snowshoeing, walking, SHOVELING snow, sledding downhill (then climbing back up).

How long will a ride through Fossil Rim take?

KB Ganesh

I am planning on going to Fossil Rim wildlife center near Glen Rose (TX) with family and friends.. How long will the whole ride take?

Answer
Family Tour
OK gang, this is for that leisurely tour with the kids. Or, that leisurely tour without the kids. We'll take you to the rhinos, cheetahs, and wolves without making you work too hard along the way. Start out with a little pavement (there is one big hill, but it's early in the tour and you can do it). Then we'll turn off the road and pedal through a nice grassy pasture for about 2 miles until we come to Hamstring Hill. Don't be frightened by this, we're already at the top. We'll leave our bikes here and walk down into the valley to see all the animals. After about an hour in the animal area, we'll hike back out and ride our bikes back to the cars. This tour is perfect for children 6 years and older, or for the younger kids who are in trailers or bike seats. Plus, it's a great tour for you if you enjoy the outdoors and animals, but aren't a really experienced off road bicyclist. And, you can join us with a true mountain bike, or a hybrid, since there isn't any technical rocky stuff. Wear your helmet and get ready to see some of the most beautiful country in Texas.

Moonlight Tour
You'll be blown away by riding at night and seeing animals in the twilight. We'll begin this tour early enough to enjoy a sunset from the top of Hamstring Hill. From here we'll hike into the Intensive Management Area to see the animals just as darkness falls on Fossil Rim. After we've seen all the animals (and maybe even heard some howling by the wolves or the wild coyotes) we hike back up Hamstring Hill and ride our bikesâunder the moonlightâback to our cars. This tour is also perfect for everybody. Kids, older folks, Hammerdogs and novices will all love this ride.

Most tri riders use road bikes. Some will bolt on a pair of aero bars to make them a little more tri friendly. So, you my friend, are looking for a used road bike on Craig's list, classifieds, or at a local bike shop.

Can't you borrow a road bike from a friend for the day?

What is a good age for kids to start riding their bike?

What age do u think a child should be taught to ride a bike with training wheels? without training wheels?
What age do u think is appropriate for a kid to ride their bike into town with an adult or an older kid like a teenager maybe?
What age do u think is appropriate for a kid to be able to ride a bike downtown themselves?

any other thoughts about kids riding bikes?

Answer
it varies and depends how motivated the child is. my kids started riding w/ training wheels at 3 and w/o between 4 and 6 (some of my kids were more cautious and others were more motivated). they biked into town (maybe 4 miles for us) with an adult from about 5 or 6. as for by themselves, they haven't yet. my oldest is 10 and she sometimes bikes short distances around the neighborhood with a friend.

other thoughts: helmets are not optional. (speaking as someone who got a concussion riding my bike!)

My 9yr old is terrified to learn to ride a bike.He is small-50lb,50in,what bike/training wheels should I get?

unimpresse

I would like to find a bike maybe a cruising type, low to the ground or something. He is afraid of heights. I've tried to teach him with other bikes but the training wheels are so flippin small and offer him no assurance. I wish they made a older kids cool trike not a green machine or anything but a bike with 2 bigger studier training wheels. Please let me know if you have any information or suggestions. Thank you so much!

Answer
He needs your assurance that he can ride a 2 wheeler - not the training wheels.

A 20 inch bike is what you want. (or 16 inch if 20 is too big)
But most 20 inche bikes will have a problem as follows :
For the perfect seat height for pedaling it (the seat) won't be perfect for flat foot learning. And in "older cautious" kids they really need that flat foot on the ground to feel good about doing it.

Here' a 20 " townie that fixes that problem - I am sure there are others out there but generally that's what you want - the seat set up for correct pedal distance and flat foot on ground too. It's a little pricey - but I am sure there are other brands liek this. Ask at bike shops for - flat foot designed bike like a townie.
http://davidscycles.com/itemdetails.cfm?catalogId=39&id=2824
Whatever you buy for him have him go with you to sit on the bike. My son has 3 bikes because some were too big at first -he is small too.
I would say don't bother with training wheels they are just a crutch. Instead get him Razor scooter (19 at target ) before you get the bike. It uses similar balance technique as bike riding -steering for the balance etc...But it's a little less scary - one foot on scooter and one on ground....with no bike between your legs.

And when he can ride the scooter - and balance riding it for more than 15 feet or so - then put him on the bike.
But take off the pedals of the bike first - and no training wheels. Have him sit on the bike and push with both feet and steer and balance and use his feet to push hisself . Have him use his feet to stop and balance as needed - tell him to think of it as a scooter with a seat.
When he can do this well both slow and fast (slow is more important it teaches balance) - then put the pedals back on and have him try to ride it - while you hold on to him and let go.

Tell him he can do it and mean it. Because he really can.
If he gets scarred ...go back to the scooter....he may need a gentle push (emotionally) once in a while.
Our son decided he never wanted to ride a bike again when we took off training wheels. All the other kids on the street were riding 2 wheel bikes while he rode a big wheel and didn't care. Until we gave him an emotional push ...with some fussing (an emotional pushes) he did it over about 4 days time.

For you it might take a week or 2 (or more) - that's OK. Don't give up and encorage him to never give up, there will always be tomorrow. But training wheels tell him it's OK to give up.

Riding a bike is like life in many ways - teaches self reliance, freedom, confidence and that sometimes you just fall down. But you have to never give up and get back up and try again. It's not easy - And it can also teach hard work - your kid's worth it.

I can't really remember riding a bike with training wheels but boy do I remember the first few times I rode a 2 wheeler by myself...I felt BIG and I could do it and it's a great self asteem builder.
He needs you not training wheels.
And when he does it - celebrate his achievement.

Do you think a 4 Wheeler is an appropriate gift for a 13 year old child?

Q. Actually this is a gift for 2 kids (they're twins). They both have driven a 4 wheeler in the past and they have both been asking for it for at least 2 years? I have already bought it, but much of my family disagrees. They say it's not appropriate for their age. HELP?

Answer
Listen, you are their parent! I have twins as well and I bought them a dirt bike (only a 50) when they were 12 and they have handled it fine. Actually, they drive that thing better than I ever could. You obviously do have to abide by your state laws, though.

Oh and P.S. if you talk to your kids about getting hurt--they really do listen. They will understand that what they see on tv is just that--tv. Kids today are much more mature than they used to be and if you will just be honest with them, they understand almost anything you try to tell them.
You can also set a certain speed limit on most of those ATVs. Plus, of course, a helmet should be worn. You can have a lot of control over where they can go on it and how fast they drive it.

Other than that as long as they have your permission and your supervision, you do not have to listen to anyone else. You know what your child can and cannot do. This decision has to be yours and yours alone. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

I actually have an almost 6 year old daughter, and an almost 7 year old daughter... we tried a few times last summer... and it was too hard for them...i'm not sure how to help them... I hold the bike seat and run... but i don't think they pedal fast enough.... HELP!

Answer
Ditch the training wheels all together and make sure their bikes are low enough to the ground that they can flatly place their feet on the ground and stop themselves from falling while they try.

We started doing this for our kids when my son learned how to ride a bike in less than a day when he was at a neighbor's house for the afternoon. They had a bike that was actually a bit too small for him and he mastered it with no problem. After that, we got him a bike that was more his size.

I have never known training wheels to be of much use for anyone.

How can I politely ask my neighbor to talk to her son about harassing my dogs?

Trixies Ma

I'm on a good basis with most of the neighbors closest to my house, it's just a 1 way street.

My neighbors that live down one, and across the street have 2 kids. One is a daughter about 9 years old, and a 5 or 6 year old son. They ride their bikes up and down the street a lot, and even though it some times upsets my dogs (and the neighbor's dogs right next to me), no one complains, because none of us are total jerks.

However, lately the son has been riding up on the grass that is right up next to my fence. I have no doubt that he is doing it to rowdy up my dogs and make them upset. Because I don't want to listen to them bark their brains out, I end up having to bring them in.

Is there a proper way to address this issue? Should I talk to his parents about it, or should I just talk to the kid?
(I know some people will say I should just train my dogs not to bark, but I believe that since they are inside a secure fence, they have just as much a right to bark as kids do to make noise in their yards.) But they don't deserve to be egged on to bark because this kid is bored (or for whatever reason).

Answer
I don't think you should say anything to the boy, just to his parents. At 5/6 yrs old, he's still a little young to realize what he is doing so even though he is doing it on purpose, I don't think it's to be mean. He thinks he is just playing with them. The reason I think it should be addressed immediately with his parents is because if he gets too close to your dogs, they might bite him. I'm sure they are not vicious dogs and you probably have them trained but they are still animals and if they view him as an intruder, they will protect their turf. If they bite him, his parents might decide to sue you even though you did nothing wrong.

and when did shipping become so expensive? i can see paying $14 for a set of ape hanger lowrider handlebars but why $20+ for standard ground shipping? when i was a kid lowrider bikes were cheap to make and cost $150 already built from the store apposed to now $250+ smh.

Answer
The price on parts for all bikes have gone up these past years and more people want to buy them for their old Muscle Bikes, Lowriders and some put them on their Antique/Vintage Balloon tire & middleweight bikes aka beach cruisers.

You should see the prices of original ones from the 1960's & 70's bikes but that is partly because people want original parts.

Wald is usually the cheapest & a real good company that has been around for a very long time that can be found at a few local bike shops.

What are some cheap things to do in Florida for a vacation?

My boyfriend and I are planning on taking a trip to Florida this spring. We do not have a lot for cash, but still want to enjoy our time there. We went a couple of year's ago to Disney World, so we've been there, done that and we don't have kids.

Any cheap, thrifty ways we can enjoy our vacation and still have fun? Also we'll be staying in the North Port area.

Answer
You can go camping... that's usually a good time with the weather and all in Florida. Its cheap too, about $20 a night.
The beach is always a good idea. And free. Or go swimming at a spring or lake.
You can go canoeing, which is also cheap. Or take a boat ride.
You can go to parks and hike, take pictures, ride bikes.
Any water parks.. if you will be near Tampa or Orlando. They are fun and usually cheaper than the other theme parks.

I have just bought a giant, boulder 4 hybrid bike( if Anyones heard of it) for 400 bucks. It's a great ride but what ways can I modify it with new parts etc to make it an easier ride???

Answer
Bob,

Here are a few options to consider.

http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/towâ¦

http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/towâ¦

You might want to give it time. Ride the bike. Become familiar with the bike first and see how things feel and fit for your purposes. Purchasing add ons and what not are all good ideas, but riding reveals what is a good spend and what is not. Riding unveils riders needs and weaknesses this is invaluable to not wasting money thus truly enhancing the bike riding experiences. I for one, read about all of the things bike manufacturers intend for my dollar. I look at pictures and review components and accessories. I keep things in mind while I ride. For instance, riding at night is a good thing for my schedule. It gives me a few more hours to take in 2-3 miles before bed time. While riding I realized I need a light. While riding at night without helmet and light I realized I needed both and that they better be good because my life depends on both. I look at the different types of helmets and asked obvious questions to some on Y/A but I am evaluating what makes sense. I ask what helmet do you wear? Why wear a helmet? Has a particular helmet brand stood out to you, if so why? These questions from others inform me to make better decisions, based on my experience first, realizing the need for a helmet.

The same can be said for a bike light. Some bike lights are measured in candle power others lumens. Some lights are led, others halogen bulb and so forth. Do I get a 1 watt or 2 watt headlight? What is the price point that seems reasonable? More importantly, based on the fact that I may ride 3-5 miles at night do I need a $250 head light? Is a $38 headlight satisfactory? Only by riding at night realizing my path through a wooded area with some street lighting will inform me. And, the experience of others who have already put into good use what I might be considering. This is at least my process, I respectfully suggest that you develop one if you want to be serious minded about cycling, if not you will be chasing your tail at your own expense.

Best.

I'm planning to go on a family vacation (2 adults & 2 kids aged 5 and 7) in Pangkor island next coming March. I did my own research (well, not so thoroughly though! ) and i need you personal reviews and recommendations on the following:

1) Is Pangkor Island beach resort aka Pan Pacific a nice resort to stay? how was the room and facilities? which type of room should i stay in? i dont mind spending but not to the extend to really splurge on all of my cash! :-) how about food over at this place?

2) is there any island tour or pangkor tour that i can book? any website link?

3) Do i need to produce any id to rent car over at this island?

4) is there any good clubs or bars in this island? where?

5) what should i do over this island..in consideration of having 2 kids along..?

6) again..should i stay in Pangkor Island beach or in Pangkor Laut Resort..again..considering the kids as well..will they be enjoying the place?

Thanks and really appreciate your reply

Answer
You might be provided with some informative website, but here are my own experience in Pangkor Island :

[1] Pangkor Island Resort [ PKR ] is a very nice place to stay and with its private beach, you will not see or mix with others non-resort visitors [ a little privacy ]. Of course seaview room is the best ! PKR do serve all kind of local and western food but you may wanted to try out the small eatery [ especially local delicacy and seafood ] whenever you are out on sight seeing, it would be many times cheaper than resort's food !

[2] Get PKR to arrange those island tour for you when you are there, advance booking not necessary !

[3] I don't think there is any car available for rent except those pink colour taxi [ van actually ], but you may wanted to try the motorbike if you know how to ride [ make sure you put-on your helmet ] which cost not more than RM35.00 for 24 hours rental !

[4] PKR do has its own club and bar, outside ......very few and small scale type and may not suit you !

[5] if you are not enjoying the sea [ swim/snorkeling ] , hire a taxi for island tour then the next day use bike to further explore the island on your own pace since you already know a little about the island by now !

[6] PKR is on Pangkor Island and Pangkor Laut Resort is on it own island hence much more privacy, no mixing around with local or outsider except resort's guest. PKR should be the better choice !

I have been to Pangkor Island many many times since my school day. As for PLR, there was my honeymoon paradise almost 20 years ago !

Happy holiday !

How long will a ride through Fossil Rim take?

What solo or small group sports are easier to start at fourteen years old?

Alex

Hi, everyone. I'm a fourteen year-old guy, and I want to start a sport. I've never been very into athletics of any sort, and feel I've been limiting myself. I did Taekwondo for around three years, but never did it seriously enough to see any results physically, and it felt like a chore to watch a bunch of little kids beat me up covered in plastic pads. I have always been relatively tall and thin, which used to be a reason I wanted to do sports. Now, I don't really mind. The only thing making me want to get into something is this girl...
I guess she's my "girlfriend", but it's not official. All I know is that she's really good at gymnastics, and I'm good at nothing in the athletic area. She doesn't mind, but I do. She makes me want to better myself. All I do is play guitar, which isn't enough for me. Last summer I did basketball, and I was the worst kid on the team so I always got benched. It's tough starting organized sports for me because I'm a freshman now. I've realized I don't want to do an organized sport because I've lost my shot at it and I'd just be a liability to any team I join. Hell, I don't even know what sport I want to get into.
I'm up for nearly anything, at this point. I want to be active and actually do something with myself this summer.
I live in a semi-suburban area in R.I. Making my parents spend a ton of money on a whim of mine isn't exactly at the top of my priority-list. Does anybody have a suggestion for a sport that is (relatively, of course) easy and inexpensive to start at my age? I don't have anywhere to swim near where I live, so that's out of the question. Also, there is no mountain or wooded area to go hiking in. To add, there is no ice-rink nearby. My friends live near me, and they'd probably be up to join me in something, but I'm running out of options. I want to be stronger, toned, more flexible, and more athletic overall. Please don't suggest baseball or football. Yes, I do like biking, but I don't consider it a sport since it is fairly easy to do. Thank you, in advance, to anyone with advice for my situation.

P.S. - Sorry if my thoughts are all scrambled around. I'm not exactly the best writer...
P.S.S. - I'm not a fan of the whole "POUND SUPPLEMENTS EAT 90 POUNDS OF RAW WILDEBEEST EVERY DAY DO OVER 9,000 SQUATS DEADLIFT DEADLIFT DEADLIFT RAAAAAGH" workout strategy, or anything of its nature.
I did track and field in 6th grade, and even that felt like I was too old to start. I could only do hurdles mildly well and the 400-meter, if it matters.
Taking back what I said about biking. It is pretty hardcore, but I can't see myself doing it heavily.

Answer
Track and field Is pretty fun! I just started last year I'm a sophomore now. So it's never too late to start. If you don't like running long jump or javelin is pretty fun too!

Mini-Bikes and the law?

Dead-Set

I have a little dirt mini-bike and I have no where at all to ride it, and I want to ride it sooo badly, is there ANYWAY I can legally ride it on a road or something?
Or does anyone know if it would be possible to ge the law on mini-bikes lifted or something? if there is a potition or something out there I will sign it.....I just think that police shouldn't be concerned about a teen riding a small motorised bike out there that is lucky to come up to their thigh....it is just like when your a little kid learning to ride your first small bike, except now your older and it is faster.
I live in NSW by the way.

Answer
I too live in nsw, im in campbeltown sydney

I know how bullshiit it is, the police have this massive grudge againts dirtbikes whether they're pocket rockets or full size 450cc's. The only legal place is a private property which you have permission for or a riding facility like appin. Unfortunatley there isnt anthing you can do to make it legal, when i was caught on my 125cc i was told next time you fight for your bike in court.

could you tell me where you live and i can help you out with other areas you can ride??

cheers

[edit] by the way to the guy above,''dirttricksracing'' the police are about >power< not keeping kids alive when it comes to mini/dirtbikes, nsw cops are very different to whateva you got in the USA

What to do in Sydney on holiday?

Felix

My family is going to Sydney in the holidays. We have 2 or 3 nights to stay there. So far we have decided to go to Luna Park, the Zoo, Paddy's markets and we plan on going to more shops (know any good ones?), and we think we will go to the Sydney Kings basketball game on January 8 that night. So, does anyone have any recomendations on where to go and other stuff that you think will be fun? Just some places to go that could be interesting for kids (teenagers), or places that are just relaxing, etc..
Thanks! =)

Answer
Aside from all the obvious one's:

Luna Park
Opera House
Bridge Climb
Feed a Kangaroo
The Zoo

There are are also the following:

Try experiencing the harbor a bit differently by taking a jet boat ride.
Have lunch on Woolloomooloo wharf or check out markets at the rocks before hitting pancakes on the rocks.
If you want to go to the beach (Which you should) avoid Bondi & Manly, although they are beautiful they will be full of tourists. Instead go to Parsley Bay (On the east) or Long Reef (On the North). If you do go to Bondi, go further up the beach to North Bondi. It's a nicer crowd and you can grab some food and/or a drink from North Bondi Italian.

Go for a horse ride or Bike ride through Moore Park & Shopping along Oxford Street in Paddington.

Go to Miss Chu's in Darlinghurts for Lunch or Dinner, it is to die for & authentic, then go check out Kings Cross because if your in Sydney you have to see the cross. It may seem dingy but if you pick the right places it is actually a cool scene.

Also if your of age visit White Revolver in Bondi on a Wednesday night or 'The Island' on a Weekend, it's where all the best people hang out.

There is so much to do here, enjoy Sydney like a local, it's way more fun!

Where can i buy bmx bikes without brake lines?

Brian

I want one of those bmx bikes that have no brake lines and you break by pedaling backwards. Anyone here know where I can buy those?

Answer
Wal-Mart or Academy.

If it has coaster brakes it's not a real BMX, it's a kids bike. If however you're set on getting a real BMX and having a coaster brake you can order a coaster brake rim, I think I saw some at DansComp.com and I know for sure Amazon will have a few.

That being said if you want better quality and a coaster brake Haro's Z-Line of bikes, while still kids bikes, are at least better quality. They're still bottom rung for Haro, but bottom rung for Haro is out of reach to Yoa Ming if he's standing at the top of the Wal-Mart/Academy ladder.

----update----

I took a nap and it jogged my memory, you can get 20" Skyway Tuffs's with a coaster brake. I looked on the PlanetBMX website and only blue remains, but I'm throwing in a link below. If you want high quality and durable (and weight isn't your chief concern) these are one of the best ways to go. If you want style get a white, red, or maybe yellow frame and put a blue seat and grips on to match the wheels. If you really want to go for style get tires in a color to match the frame, at 20" size you can do that, unfortunately I can't find red 24" tires to save my life :-)

I want your opinion for what kind of bike is better to buy in city . Thanks

Answer
So where are these off-road trails in the city? What is it about mountain bikes? Does everyone think they look cool or something putting around on paved streets at 10 to 12 mph?

Buy a bike intended for "where & how" you will be riding. See link...
http://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/bicycle.html

For paved surfaces in the city, the two best choices would be a hybrid or a road bike.

To whom it may concern
Hey I am Trey writing to you from Loveland, Colorado my letter talks about me and mountain biking. I am hoping to get a good experience from this. My 2005 Raleigh Ram 1.0 is a great bike for what it has been through. When I bought it in August about four months ago the seller said all original parts. I have had to get many repairs. One thing that is not so easy to get fixed is suspension. I currently have an A-pro tough shock in rear and SR Suntour SR XCP75 100mm which is total crap now. Itâs bouncy in the back and stiff in the front. This makes my bike harder to control. It is also pretty heavy which makes up hilling very hard with the travel choices bouncy good for climbing and loose for descending no time for adjustments while riding so I have it bouncy. I usually ride 15 miles. I also have tendinitis in my knees in which the knee tendon gave out due to overuse. My knee can take long rides with not too much pain, but I donât want my tendinitis getting bad leading to it to arthritis and the possibility of surgery . I am only 14 are you kidding me!? As long as my knee is still capable I am still going to ride as long as I can, whenever I can.
I want to give a shout put to my bro (well best friend) Dillon. Every day and I mean it we ride around the neighborhood looking for things to ride on but not a lot in winter, also talk about our dream bikes, road trips, brag about what we read or saw of MTB/DH, and we even got a pretty rad plan for how we are going to make our attempt to get sponsored. Also, show everyday people if they can get off their lazy asses and go experience whatâs in their âback yardâ thereâs more to life than playing inside and something that will be a great You donât even need to ride just hike, camp, fish, or watch me ride at my competition anything works in the end I will be the one living life to its greatest potential. Number one on my bucket list is go to Utah and hopefully see the Redbull rampage sight.
So now that you know a little of what I am about. 32 FLOAT 120mm Factory 26â wheel. Forget about the rear. If there is any possible way I get that I just will be overwhelmed and just do my best ride the technical trails in Colorado and Wyoming, and make every ride the best learning experience. Over thanksgiving break I rode 66 miles. I am planning to ride about 45+miles a week this Spring, Summer, and Fall. Love your work keep it up.
Thank you for taking time to read my letter; if there is any advice or ideas for me I would love to hear it just email me. Please reply and I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Sincerely,

Trey Hannam

Answer
Sorry, but I don't know from the letter who you are writing to or the purpose of the letter.

Some hints:
- e-mail is NOT a letter
- Use paragraphs
- make it clear who you are writing to
- have a brief intro that specifically says why you are writing
- Focus on providing relevant background and briefly and clearly describe the issue/problem
- Make whatever request you are making very clear
- Be polite
- Make sure your contact info is clear

Good luck
