Answer
Get a road bike. You will get much more use out of it and if you keep riding who knows. Trust me Im 16 now and when I was ur age I wanted a bmx or mtn bike so I saved up and used it for bout 3 months and got bored. Then I was out riding on the road seeing who could get two top of hill first when this cyclist flew by on a trek madone. I sold the mtn bike got road bike and started racing bout 3 months later. Now I have a cross bike, track bike and two road bikes and I raceing at a pretty good level. So please dont waste time on bmx ( no offence to bmxing but most kids just ride it for few months then get bored) get road bike and ride ride ride. Maybe youll get into 2012 thats what Im goin for.

Do you think kids as young as 13 years old should be allowed to race motorcycles at speeds topping 100 mph?

I am asking this question in light of the recent death of Peter Lenz, a 13 year old motorcycle racer.

Answer
Ref West Side.

In GP racing, the bike in question was a Morawaki MD250. Yes its called a 250 and YES it has 250cc, however in the true sense og GP racing, this machine is only a 125cc.

The new Moto3 formula ( due in 2012 to replace the 125cc 2 strokes ) will be powered by 250cc 4 stroke engines.

This sounds like "twice the engine / twice the speed " but in truth, these machines are slower then the 2 stroke machines they replace.

For any of you guys who dont follow modern Motorcycle racing ( mainly the MotoGP ) there has not been a champion in the last 30 years that did not RACING ( not riding ) when they were in single figures.

Peter Lenz won his first national title at 6 years young.
Valentino Rossi won his first title at .... 6 years young.

Maybe that might help you understand what the Lenz family were doing.

They were not trying to KILL their son, they were giving there son the best start into a wonderfull sport.

I'm 45 and single and looking to buy an eye catching car. Suggestions?

Money is not necessarily and issue. Am looking used though. Something between 2007 - 2012. I just don't want to drive around in a SUV. Want something cool looking.

Answer
Just what type of msg are you wanting to send? Consider the lyrics from Johhny Lee's "Looking for love in all the wrong places". A 6 series coupe or convertible will do exactly that. But with the cost of maintenance, replacing the run-flat tires [only with more run flat tires] premium fuel that may the extent of what you can afford.

I assume you haven't forgotten the lessons of the Great Crash of 2008 and have fully funded your Roth IRA, 401K and the 529 college fund[s] for your kid[s], the one[s] you get to see on weekends?

Then get a 645 and be sure to hang around your local BMW dealer at quitting time and hook up with a cute mechanic. You'll need one.

Since it sounds by implication your last relationship went bad I would go the other direction of glitter and try down to earth honest with similar interests. Those you don't meet due to a car, you meet them because you bike, hike, golf, play tennis, sail and have something in common.
