is this a good bike for beginners? FMF pro xxxl 20 inch ?

I looking a getting my kids in BMX.. How much would a bike like this cost new.. we saw one at the track and my boys liked it.

Hi, glad to see your kid's enjoy BMX.

I don't really know FMF bmx, i never really dealed with them..

But if i am right (i am not sure correct me if i'm wrong) the FMF pro XXL is only a frame, not a complete BMX. but like i said, i'm not sure.

Anyways, FMF is a pretty good beginer bike.

I would also go look at Eastern, Fit, Subrosa, MacNeil, Animal and odessey bmx. they are the top bmx compagnie's..

for a complet bmx a good one, around 300-1200$ for a good one. chek www.danscomp.com

it also really depend's on what kind of bmx your kid's will do, there's 4 kind's of bmx and all 4kind's have diferent ting's on them. theres : Vert, Park, Flatland, Dirt. ask them it's importent.

If it has spokes - there is a small tool you can buy that twists a small nut type flange at the outer wheel side of the spokes tighten on the ones that you want to pull with and loosen the opposite ones (close by not on opposite side of wheel entirely) accordingly - it's not hard - you'll figure it out.

just be patient and thorough and you can get it very straight even as a beginner.

I'm getting ready to buy my first unicycle and I don't know what size I should get. Ive heard 20 inch is the best one to start with, but I'm rather short (5'1) so I was wondering if I should get a kids size instead? Like one of the 16 or 18 inch ones.

i have a 20 inch but i'm 6ft so i'm not sure if a 20 will be small enough for you, you should go to a bike shop that sells them and see if you have trouble mounting a 20 or not, if you do have trouble then you should get a 18

What size bike for an 8 year old? Are sized based on tire size?

Looks like the 16 ince wheel bike is the right size, but other info says, buy a 20 inch bike. So which is right? Going to look at used at peoples homes and don't want to waste time looking at the wrong sizes. Help!

There is a little truth in some answers but... I have 2 young daughters on the small side and have decades of biking experience soooo...

16" is a very small bike. Height is the factor but if your kid is of average height you want a 20" bike. Most all kids ride 20" by 7 for sure. Both my petite girls had 20" bikes at 7. My older one needed a 24" at 10. Kids grow fast, never get a bike they can barely ride now as they will be too big for it by August.

My bike has a 100 lbs weight limit & i weigh 160, is there any way i can raise da weight limit like new tires?

just ride it til something breaks

though i would tighten all the spokes, regardless
or they will be the first thing to break

if the tires are flattening out, that;s bad
get higher pressure tires with a higher weight limit
as bob a says, though, 100x2 is a 200 lb limit

also, i wouldn;t do a lot of jumping with it
