How much room can be maid in the back of a 90's Jeep Cherokee or Grand Cherokee?

Can the seats be easilly removed? Is there enough room for 2 or 3 bikes to fit in the back?

There's not enough height. I couldn't get my kid's 16" bike in straight up. No way would my mountain bike fit, even with the seat down.

It's why roof racks or bumper hitch mounts are sold. Think about it, it will take a full sized van to gain enough vertical height handle bars to tread to just walk one in.

I'm not into bikes, but he wants one for Christmas. He doesn't want a "cheap" $80 one, so I'm going to go ahead and get him about a $200 one as his big gift. He wants a bike that he can ride on the street and in someone's backyard but not one that can like ride through a forest or something. PS, He's 12 years old if that helps any and he's a little small for his age.

Even $200 or less will mean a discount or big box store bike. (puke) Is he even close to 5' tall? If so, get to some real bicycle shops. Real bicycles come in various frame sizes to fit most anyone from small to tall - with either 26" or 700C wheels & tires.

Kids usually like mountain bikes. Click on the link below & look at the upper left side of the page: Sizes. Those are not wheel sizes, but frame sizes - 12, 16, 18, & 20". Bike cost about $300.00.
